Tuesday was our final series of the Spring Series. It was a fine evening with 8 boats eventually making it to the start line. It was great to welcome Mike Cerrato to the fleet. He needed some help getting his new boat, my old boat, rigged up but he didn’t need any help sailing it. Mike was a bit late to the start but proceeded to sail right past the fleet and win his first race! Race 3 also saw the premier fleet race for Erin Flannigan. She’s been putting in some serious practice time and it showed. Tami Chapman made her season debut as well. Mark Hess dominated again with 5 bullets, he tossed a 2 and won with 5 points. Dick Harmon edged me out in a 13 point tie breaker for distant 2nd and 3rd places.
With 5 evening series sailed, 3 were needed to qualify. 6 of us, including Nick, Sarah, Mark, Dick, Anne and I made the cut. We ended with 29 races and 13 total starters. I finished 28 of the races and Mark finished 27. Mark won the series with an average score of just over 2. Congrats to all qualifiers! Huge thanks go out to Bob White and Steve Nearing, our faithful RC.
